The 'Real Women' of BlackJaQ have their say

   Linda

It’s hard to believe that we are almost at the end of another year, and only weeks away from competition in Mandurah.   It’s been 10 years since Perth had the pleasure of hosting a regional competition, and we ( BlackJaQ and Perth Harmony Chorus)  are very excited having you all in our home town.  Western Australia is a great state and we hope that our visitors get a chance to have a look around.

Family continue to play a large supporting role in my Barbershop life, and I am for ever grateful to them. BlackJaQ’s  trip to Nashville prompted Granpa John to try out a few weeks of respite care , and I’m happy to report that he enjoyed it. I was able to go away knowing he was safe and sound. At the great age of 92, he now has his own mobile phone and I was able to keep in touch with him whilst in the States.

Talking of the USA, Nashville was an amazing journey, and we were very blessed with love and support from so many people.  What a lovely way to spend our ‘birthday’ too.

Granddaughter Maddison has progressed from television programme songs to musicals, and loves Phantom of the Opera, Sound of Music, Wizard of Oz, to name but a few. Even found her sitting on the floor the other day, browsing through my back editions of Pitch Pipe!

To fellow competing quartets I wish you all the very best for that incredible 6 minutes.

Linda.
