The 'Real Women' of BlackJaQ have their say

   Jess

My amazing quartet journey began in 2000 with “Mischief Down Under” quartet. Together we won the Regional Championships held in Perth, and enjoyed some great years of friendship and exciting performances... Along with Perth Harmony Chorus we enjoyed an exciting journey onto the International Stage in Portland 2001. What a fantastic trip!

Then “BlackJaQ”! Such an extraordinary and fun quartet, we laugh almost as much as we sing :-)

The incredible thing is it’s not just great fun, there’s plenty of hard work and even more ‘challenges’. I’ve gained so much from each of the gals and their incredible knowledge of this craft. BlackJaQ is passionate about working toward improving our skills and our ability to perform and share those skills. We are fortunate too, that we share our journey with support from our families, friends and fellow singers.  Our recent journey to Nashville gave us all invaluable experience on an International level. The performance, the preparations, the energy, the sheer ‘realness’ and the incredible support we received from everyone in Australia and also our international friends was awe-inspiring! I’ve been privileged to work and sing with Perth Harmony Chorus and enjoy many great opportunities, including two international stage performances with quartets, International level workshops, coaching, personal voice instructions and conventions and I’ll keep looking forward to enjoying many more exciting opportunities with BlackJaQ.

Everyday life... and then there were 6 of us!

“Here’s a story... of a lovely lady... hahaha..” well not quite but its’ been an exciting start to the new year, Christmas, birthdays, we holidayed to Broome, moved two houses, started new schools and.... ... survived! The kids all love their new schools, how long will ‘that’ last? I still enjoy working my everyday job as a Directors P.A ...  and love my new Ninja, every chance we get, we ride! Never a dull moment I tell you! I’m so lucky! Life is good.

Only a few weeks to go and BlackJaQ will enjoy the Regional Convention here in Mandurah... We’re enjoying our preparations for this performance.

A busy year its’ been again – its true how time flies - every second counts!
